How to read a coverage result
Three things confuse buyers more than anything else on this page, so they are answered here rather than in the FAQ.

Every plan reads every module
Coverage does not improve as you move up the ladder. Lite reads the same control units on the same car as Advanced does. What changes is how many vehicles you can add, and whether the special functions that finish a repair are included.

The count is your vehicle, not a catalogue
What the check returns is what your make — and where we hold them, your model and year — has recorded against it. A newer car exposes more than an older one because the car has more to expose, not because the scanner differs.

Most answers are make level, and we say so
Coverage is recorded per make on about seven rows in ten. Where we hold rows for your exact model, the result says so and folds them in. Where we do not, it says that instead of implying a precision the record does not have.

Questions about coverage
Is this the same data the app uses?
Yes. This page is built from the same coverage records the app reads when it connects to a vehicle. If the app cannot read a unit on your car, this page does not claim it can.
My model is in the list but my year is not.
Pick the nearest year and read the note on the result. About one row in eight carries a year range, and where one does the check applies it — that is why a 2016 car can return a different count from a 2011 one on the same model.
Does fuel type change what is covered?
The control-unit list does not change between petrol, diesel and CNG. Some functions only exist on a vehicle that has the hardware — a diesel particulate filter regeneration needs a particulate filter — so the function list can differ where the car does.
Why do two cars of the same model return different counts?
Trim and model year. A variant with an electronic parking brake exposes the retract function; a variant with a cable handbrake has nothing to retract. The check returns what is recorded for the combination you picked.
My make says "not tested yet". What does that mean?
It means exactly that — the make is in the vehicle database and we hold no coverage rows against it. It is not a polite way of saying no. Send us the vehicle and we will tell you what we find rather than sell you a scanner on the assumption.
How often does coverage change?
Records are added as vehicles are tested, and this site is rebuilt from the database on a weekly cycle. Updates are included on every plan.
