GaragePro started in 2015 with a narrow observation: the diagnostic tools sold in India were either ₹500 dongles that read engine codes and nothing else, or dealer machines built around European model lists at fifty times the price. Neither served the workshop on the corner reading an ABS fault on a nine-year-old hatchback.

So the vehicle database was built the slow way — connecting to vehicles, one make and model at a time, recording which control units answered and which did not. That is still how it grows, and it is why the compatibility page can tell you that a make has not been tested rather than guessing.

How it went

Not a growth chart. The decisions that changed what the product could read.

    Company registered

    Zymbia Interactive Technologies incorporated in Gurgaon. The first product was a car scanner and a database of a handful of makes.

  2. 2017

    Bikes added

    Motorcycle coverage meant building a connector cable per make, because almost no two bike makers use the same diagnostic port.

  3. 2019

    Special functions shipped

    Service resets, throttle adaptation and injector coding arrived. This is the point at which garages started buying rather than owners.

  4. 2022

    Three-wheelers and 24-volt commercial vehicles

    Commercial vehicles needed different hardware and a 24-volt supply. Fleet operators became a customer of their own rather than an edge case.

  5. 2026

    The database is still grown the same way

    By connecting to vehicles and recording what answers. Every count on this site exists because someone plugged into one.

Coverage claims are recorded, not estimated

A control-unit count on this site exists because that vehicle was connected to and the answer written down. Where a record is make level rather than model level, the page says so — that caveat appears on more pages than we would like, and it stays.

We will tell you not to buy

If your vehicle is not supported, or one unit will do where you asked about three, support says so. A returned scanner costs less than a garage telling other garages it did not work.

No claims about programming

We read and clear every control unit we hold a record for, and run the special functions on the library page. We do not flash ECUs and we do not code keys, and the site says that on the page where someone would look for it rather than in a disclaimer.
