Which plan does a single-car owner need?

Lite, unless you want the resets that finish a repair — a service reset after an oil change, an electronic parking brake retract before a brake job. Then Advanced.

Does Lite read fewer modules than Advanced?

No. Every plan reads every control unit on the car and clears faults on all of them. Lite limits you to two vehicles and leaves out special functions.

Do I need a different scanner for a diesel car?

No. The same unit reads petrol, diesel and CNG. Only 24-volt commercial vehicles need the separate HCV scanner.

Can two people share one scanner?

The activation pairs to one plan, and the plan can be signed into on one phone at a time. For a bay with two mechanics, buy two activations.

What if my OBD port is hidden behind trim?

The extension cable reaches ports above the pedal box or behind a panel. It is sold on its own in Accessories.

Will it work on my car?

Use the check at the top of this page. It returns the control units and the special-function count for your make, model and year from the GaragePro coverage record, and it says whether that answer is for the make or for your exact model.
